4-star WR Khalil Shakir Has Three Standing Out

Quote

"The schools I like the most are Boise State, Illinois and Arizona State," said the four-star.

Shakir said their steady communication is making a difference.

"Those three contact me the most and are leading my recruitment," said Shakir.

Two of those schools, though, have been on him even harder.

"Boise State and Illinois are recruiting me the hardest," said Shakir. "At Boise State, Coach (Eric) Kiesau and I really connect, I feel. And same with Coach (Andrew) Hayes-Stoker and Coach (Hardy) Nickerson at Illinois."

Despite some schools watching him closely his senior year, Shakir is happy with where things stand in his recruitment.

So it appears Illinois has a new QB eligible immediately.

Lovie: Hey Pete how's about you pay your way to compete for a chance to run for your very life behind our historically bad offensive line!

Pete: #$%&@! yeah!

I like the cut of Pete's jib

but in all seriousness, I doubt he plays unless its an emergency situation with injuries, like a commenter said in the article, they probably don't want to have to burn Cam Thomas's redshirt year if they don't have to

Agreed. It was just an insurance pickup for a year.

Pete said he wants to eventually become a coach, so being under Lovie and this staff made sense to him. Obviously the kid sees it wasn't for playing time.
