We have made his final 6 list, although I'm not sure this one is very likely. 6-4 Wing, grad transfer from Wright St. Some really, really gaudy scoring games (averaged 19 ppg), but some alarming efficiency and turnover numbers.

His other suitors are South Carolina, Pitt, Louisville, LSU and Georgetown

Yeah but do any of those schools have Mike LaTulip doing their bidding?

If he comes to Illinois that's a pretty dire message for a few on the current roster.

I'd say about 3 of them....including #5

Unless DJW morphs into a viable Malcolm Hill replacement or we find another decent sized swing man in the transfer market, there are going to be a ton of minutes available for guards at the 3

I also can't shake the feeling that Jordan and possibly even Black may seek a transfer

Jordan might be a guy who is content to get a good education amongst friends.

We'll know about DJW soon, but I'd lean to gone after they meet here shortly.

Black is not a good fit for what they want to do, but a total lack of bigs means they can't afford to let him walk until 2018

I have moderately high hopes for DJ, he needs a coach who will whip his ass into shape.

Semester is almost over, I have a feeling we'd have heard about the transfers by now if they were going to happen. Black can grad transfer after this season, so I doubt he leaves now to sit out a year.

I wouldn't say that. Underwood has been extremely busy, and only in recent days has he seen these guys play in person. They are sitting down for individual meetings soon, certainly telling him he doesn't envision much PT could easily trigger such a move

Yep. Makes no since for black or finke to leave at this time.

Why is Black not a good fit, exactly?

Not big enough to be a 5, and doesn't have the ball skills they look for to employ somewhat interchangeable 1-4s. Underwood doesn't really believe in the PG,SG, SF, PF, C model. Someone like Kipper is much more suited to be the 4-ish type guy

Although we have plenty of guards Alstork would give us a veteran reliable go to scoring option. He could step right in and start and alleviate some of the pressure from the other guys as they are transitioning to bigger roles

Black's burned his redshirt year, can't see him giving up a year of eligibility by transferring now.

I saw Alstork play a few times this year, I'd pass.

Yeah or take minutes from developing underclassmen... lets not make that same mistake again like our last coach please...

Sometimes too many minutes can hurt more than help when you are talking about underclassmen who are not conditioned or physically ready for the college game
