Because you'll have to pay a lot of money for a guy who hasn't shown much yet.

As with the rookies...

Who you pay like, a quarter of the amount.

Garropolo is still under rookie contract. Yes you'd have to pay him next year, but that could definitely be based off what he does this coming year.

No, you have to pay him right off the bat. You're going to trade the #3 pick for him and then not commit to him past that season? Totally ridiculous.

Yeah they're not gonna trade the third pick for a Jimmy G tryout.

Still think he's the best person they could get with #3. Better than any other player besides Garrett in this draft. Fills an immediate need, just like any other player they'd select there. Guess in 3 or 4 years we'll all be talking about how stupid is was to pass on him. Bookmark this because they will regret it later.

3rd overall pick is a really high slot for a safety. I haven't checked any draft boards recently, though. Not saying I'm absolutely convinced it would work, but I wouldn't be against trading the pick for Garrapolo. I'd probably try to include some safety net stipulations, however. Would prefer not to do it straight up.

The problem with trading for Jeanine Garofalo is that the Pats probably don't want a high draft pick. They would probably much rather have a late first rounder and a second/third rounder than a top-5 pick. I think if the Bears trade with the Pats, there would probably have to be a 3rd team involved who would give up a package of picks for the high pick.

Can't hurt. Wouldn't think a lot is guaranteed.

Cruz really just had the one injury, but it's about the worst one for a WR, and he'll never be the same. Still, this is a weak unit and he could easily make it as the 4-5-6 guy.

Just another body to group with the others. Throw em against the wall & see which ones stick.
